What the Boys Wore: Little Green Radicals
Since even before my first wrinkly newborn had arrived, I've loved Little Green Radicals. When he was no longer just a figment of my imagination, but a real, breathing human tucked away inside my body, I adored browsing baby clothes. It's almost a rite of passage buying that first babygrow; the one you look at and think, how is it that soon there'll be a teeny tiny person filling that teeny tiny suit?
There's always been something magical about Little Green Radicals; it's not only the beautiful colours and designs, but the people who sell them. Whilst pregnant with A, and attending a baby fair in town, I met a lovely lady selling reusable nappies and gorgeous organic clothes, and LGR was among them. I was instantly drawn in to how beautiful they felt and how nostalgic they made me feel; I was taken back to my own childhood and all of the patterns and rainbows my own parents would dress me in.
The passiong she held for the brands she sold lit a fire in me that day and I soon became passionate myself about those who not only sell beautiful clothes, but who care about the people who make them, the people who wear them and about the environment we live in; is there much better than a brand who not only cares about your children, but considers your children's children too?
My boys are delightful little monkeys, full of vibrance and finding the perfect clothes to match those huge personalities is always so much fun. I urge my boys to believe in magic for as long as possible; in fairies and elves and things invisible to the eye, and I feel a little of that magic every time I dress them in LGR. Their wistful prints bring out so much, and they're oh-so comfortable against skin; something essential to us with two little boys with very sensitive bodies.
I hope they experience adventure in their lifetime's; I hope they are happy and fearless and kind and have courage. I hope the clothes they wear are kept and passed on to their own children; not only so they feel the same bubbly nostalgia I did, but so their children carry a piece of them and the magic I hope they'll carry through childhood.
My friend Amber has shared some beautiful thoughts on her little ones and has also been discussing why they love Little Green Radicals so much; check out her post here.
