Snowdrops & Rainbows — The Ordinary Moments #17
I am oh-so ready for Spring now, not that we've had a particularly Wintery Winter—only a few frosty mornings and a dusting of snow—but the evenings are lighter for just that little bit longer and the daffodils are teasing and I'm ready to leave the house without a coat in hand! We discovered these snowdrops completely isolated in the surrounding wood and I found them kind-of mesmerising; a beautiful little flower in a dark, dreary wood.
Due to the weather, we haven't managed to get out a whole lot lately and our outdoor visits seem to be fleeting; I'm quite often chastised for never wearing enough layers and complaining of cold but Mr J and I decided to get outside and explore the woods and as muddy as we all got, it was nice to just run around and play hide'n'seek with A and not care about getting dirty & messy. I've neglected to notice it before, but there's something magical about our local park and we're really lucky to have somewhere so huge to have outdoor adventures in; it only made me even more eager for Summer to arrive.
For now, we're off on a short family break next week (also coincidentally my birthday) and I'm so excited to coop up with the Mr and my boys and soak up some much-needed family time, it seems like one of us is always at work, or pre-school these days and some fun is what we all need to see these Wintery days out (I'll ignore the fact I'm going to be one year away from 30).
