Lullaby & Kisses Sweet Book
We're a sucker for great reads and pretty things in our household, so when something comes along that happens to entail both of those things, I jump at the chance to review it. I've previously posted a guide of some of our favourite baby & toddler reads but as we tend to get through 2 or 3 books a day, we're always on the lookout for new ones that are engaging and colourful, so when I saw Lullaby & Kisses Sweet pop up on my Instagram feed, I knew little A would love it.
I'd highly recommend purchasing the actual book over the digital version as it's just beautiful! The cover is spongy and soft with rounded corners (as to avoid little ones injuring themselves, as we all know they could quite easily manage it!) and the type and stars are a lovely shimmery, metallic gold (a really nice touch).
A loves flicking through the pages and looking at the illustrations; we tend to run through a couple of poems with him each day under one of the different themes (see below). It's also great for keeping toddlers entertained when out & about as it's sturdy enough to avoid damage when dropped (or thrown at the nearest wall) and entertaining enough to be able to hold their attention (for at least 5 minutes anyway!). I even find myself flicking through it after A's gone to bed as it's so appealing (especially to an addict of seriously cute things).
The poems themselves are short, sweet and clever, the perfect length for keeping babes attention and enjoyable for the parents to read too.
So, if you love reading with your baby or toddler, and want to introduce them to poetry, this'll be the book to get them involved. Everything about it is great, and I'll be the first one jumping on the bandwagon if they decide to realise any others in the series.
