Pregnancy #2; 32 week update

I recently became aware that I've done alot of complaining during these past couple of weeks; I'm bigger this time and it's hot so I have even less to wear, baby is very strong now and I'm experiencing painful kicks in places I didn't know existed and I'm generally struggling with keeping on top of everything now there's a huge bump to work around. Then, this morning, I stumbled across a story of a couple pregnant with their third baby; a baby they've discovered has turners syndrome and sadly is highly unlikely to survive the pregnancy, let alone live beyond birth and I suddenly realised how lucky we are to be experiencing a healthy pregnancy (thus far). I don't know if this will be my last baby, but it could be, and with not long to go now, I should be savouring every kick and twirl, no matter how intense or painful; soon he or she will be out here with us and I'll never be able to feel those inner wriggles from them again.

SYMPTOMS
01 Nausea/extreme hunger has returned but thankfully not as intense as at the beginning of pregnancy. I'm eating/snacking pretty much all day long and I think that's what's keeping the nausea at bay.
02 Sorry for the TMI, but I've had a noticeable increase in cervical mucus over the last week or so; it's not something I've experienced alot through the beginning stages so I wonder if my body's ramping up for labour over the next couple of months.

Weirdly, I've actually struggled to think about any symptoms I've had this month so I guess I'm actually pretty lucky. I've had the teeniest amount of heartburn but it rarely occurs and doesn't bother me, and besides some odd aches/pains and occasional nausea/eating, I haven't experienced a huge deal. I recently purchased some Raspberry Leaf capsules so I'll be beginning those as soon as they arrive to help prepare my uterus for birth (I drank the tea last time but apparently it's not potent enough to make a huge difference, though I had no tearing so I can't help but think it may have helped!).

BABY Baby seems to be doing great; it's been difficult having no more scans this pregnancy and less midwife appointments as I don't get much of an insight, but when it comes to what I can monitor, movement is happening extremely often—it's so strong it takes my breathe away at times and I'm getting kicked in all sorts of odd places! Early in the morning and last thing at night seem to be the most active periods; I had a small tea last night later than I normally would and that definitely kicked off some activity so I'll be avoiding too much caffeine later in the day from now on.

FEELING OUCH. I've had alot of discomfort throughout this pregnancy but it actually seemed to ebb away through weeks 28-31, but this week I've been getting really uncomfortable. There was a whole day where I was experiencing pain all over my bump/around my back but thankfully a couple of paracetamol helped with that, and ever since I've been getting odd aches and pains but nothing consistent yet. Back ache is something I'm regularly starting to get which is fun; I didn't have a lot of it with A but now, even with my pregnancy pillow, I'm sometimes waking with a bad back and finding myself in pain throughout the day.

Hot weather + huge bump don't particularly go hand-in-hand so I am becoming uncomfortable, sweaty, achy and I spend most of my time wondering what on earth I'm going to wear. I bought a pair of maternity shorts, but it's not ideal having a large mass of fabric pulled over your belly in the heat and I don't find them particularly comfy at all. I've been living in maxi dresses, PJ shorts and leggings (when it's not too hot).

This month, I filmed a little vlog talking a bit about how pregnancy is going so far, how bump's holding up and how we're just not exactly ready for this little one quite yet! Watch below or subscribe to our YouTube channel here.

APPOINTMENTS I've had one appointment since my last update and all went fairly smoothly; I found out I'm immune to slapped cheek so thankfully A's short illness has caused no harm to baby, heartbeat was 145-150bpm which is pretty average and I booked up for the next appointment at 33/34 weeks. After that, my appointments will shorten to every 2 weeks so perhaps I can start getting more of an insight into how baby's positioned and start discussing my birth plan (which I haven't begun to write yet)!

EXCITED ABOUT Meeting this baby and finding out the sex! Now that we're getting near the finish line, it's even more difficult than ever not knowing as I'm just so curious. I'm 99% sure this little one is a boy (so sure that I'm a little annoyed we didn't just confirm so I could go through A's old clothes before they arrive) simply due to how I'm carrying, how active they are and the similarities to my pregnancy with A (which I know isn't exactly scientific, just a mother's instinct I suppose). I feel as if 32 weeks is a really annoying stage, as I'm close, but still so far from the end and I can't wait to get closer to full-term so I can wonder if the twinges I feel could be the start of labour or not!
