Pregnancy #2; 28 week update

Pregnancy #2; 28 week update including bump shots, Leni and Co milestone cards, maternity bump shots taken on a Nikon D3300 and Next bee sleepsuit and black and white crosses blanket

I've been writing these pregnancy updates monthly in the hope that time won't pass me by too fast; boy, that backfired. They come around so fast that every time I write one, I sit here and think, holy crap, we're having another actual baby soon. This week, we're entering the third trimester, so it's becoming more real than ever.

SYMPTOMS
01 The constant peeing seemed to calm down for a while but it seems to have come flooding (excuse the pun) back this week. The second my bladder fills even the slightest amount, I desperately need to pee, so much so that I can barely walk without feeling as if I'm going to wet myself!
02 Every now and then, I'll get these weird shooting pains quite low that feel as if baby is pushing down on my cervix. I only think that because it feels similar to the discomfort I experienced when I had a stretch & sweep with A. On the chance I do get it, I struggle to walk and do have to sit down and rest for a while, but it's not been severe and it never lasts for too long thankfully.
03 I'm starting to experience breathlessness more often now. Lying down in any position is uncomfortable so sleeping is becoming more difficult (especially with an occasionally bed-sharing toddler who insists his head is most comfortable where ever mine is).
04 It's no secret that I'm a huge sweet tooth and it's something I do have to try and keep under control but right now I just want all the chocolate and sweets all the time! Probably the closest I've gotten to a craving, just sweet sweet sweet.

BABY Baby seems to be doing great; I'm feeling alot of movement now (I think it's the perfect time for them, strong enough to show themselves off but not too big that they're getting stuck quite yet) which is comforting considering what's going on with the slapped cheek disease (see appointments below). Baby #2 seems to be getting into some sort of routine now, moving alot in the evenings, not so much during the night, and again quite active in the mornings. I'm now feeling movement (though not as intense) pretty much all day long, whether active or not.

FEELING Huge! Now the weather's getting much warmer, I'm always struggling to find something to wear and end up constantly wearing maxi-dresses (and that's the ones I can wriggle into). I'm starting to dread the discomfort Summer will bring when I'm mahoosive and I seriously need to invest in some cooler maternity clothes. Recommendations?

APPOINTMENTS We've had a couple of midwife appointments this month so they're obviously ramping up as I enter the third trimester. Archie decided to contract what we believe to have been slapped cheek disease a couple of weeks ago, which can be a risk for the fetus if caught during pregnancy, so after discussing this with my midwife, she's getting my bloods checked to find out if I'm immune or not. The risk is low, so hopefully all will be fine. If I'm not immune, I'll have to have another blood test in 3-4 weeks to find out whether I've contracted fifths, and if so, we'll have to be monitored much more closely to keep an eye on baby.

Bump also measured ever-so-slightly small at 27 weeks and though I was actually 27 weeks at the time, the midwife said she expected me to measure closer to 28 as I turned 28 weeks the day after our appointment. It's probably the first time in both pregnancies that I've ever not measured exactly right, so I'm a bit bemused as to what it could mean!

EXCITED ABOUT Finding out if baby is pink or blue! The further along in pregnancy I get, the more I'm desperate to know what gender my little jellybean is. We're feeling boy quite strongly but we don't have anything to go on besides the fact I'm carrying similar to the way I did with Archie. I really thought we'd struggle with names for another boy, but we already know what #2's name will be regardless of gender. As lovely as it would be to have a little girl, I'd be a little bit gutted to not use our boy's name as I'm absolutely in love with it.
