"It's just a bunch of hocus pocus!" — The Ordinary Moments #5
It's almost Halloween and we've had a fab time celebrating this year! I've always loved All Hallows Eve and now that A is two it's been more fun than ever to carve pumpkins, bake ghoulish green treats and decorate the house. This week, we decided to bake some cupcakes for A to decorate, though he mostly demolished the toppings alone and needed constant reminding that we were supposed to be decorating, not scoffing. Toddlers.
Last weekend, we headed out to an early bonfire + fireworks night and A had a great time at the outdoor disco; It's never long before he gets boogeying when there's music playing, it was just a shame that the bonfire took so long to light and the majority of the kids started to get a tad bored! Was lovely to finally accept the colder weather and wrap up nice & snug to watch the fireworks though.
I'd never carved a pumpkin before this year so I love that I've finally done it and it was so fun! I'm gutted I didn't do a Jack Skellington, but I wanted to start off simple (as I was a pumpkin virgin). We've had our pumpkins lit every night since we made them and I'll be gutted to see them go!
On the big day, Archie will be dressing up (as something not scary to everyone, but terrifying to me) and we'll be taking him around to trick or treat with the family and then we'll be
turning the lights off after 8pm and pretending we're in bed excitedly hanging about for the trick or treaters!
