Get Your Monthly Dose of Adorable with the Kawaii Box
Since our recent holiday to Devon, where I discovered an adorable vintage sweet shop selling Japanese treats, I've been looking for a monthly subscription so that I can regularly indulge my fantasies of cute kawaii characters and the Japanese/Korean candy culture. As a designer, the packaging alone appeals to me (who doesn't like anything rainbow-coloured and shiny?) and the sweets & toys inside are just a bonus!
Somehow, I happened to come across the Kawaii Box co. who, as luck my have it, specialise in exactly what I was looking for—a dose of adorable through the door every month—so I was really excited to receive my first box and share my thoughts. This post is just an overview but if you'd like to see the complete contents of my first kawaii box, check out the YouTube video below (and subscribe if you'd like *winks*).
On opening, the box has a contents card which comes in handy as it's not always clear what everything is [see the video for my shameful confusion] and I was really chuffed with the items we received. There's a good amount included (they promise 10-12 items per box) and it varies from fluffy lemon key rings, to delicious treats and seriously smiley sushi (the stickers may be my favourite item yet?). It's exciting to own something that's unique and doesn't originate from the UK, plus it's an especially fantastic idea if you have any regular pen pals or friends you'd like to spoil or share with!
Fancy a box for yourself?
The best thing about all of this is that the Kawaii Box co also do a monthly subscription for a Japan Candy Box and I'll not only be reviewing/vlogging about it over the next few weeks, but I'll also have one to give away to one of my lucky readers for free! The candy is my favourite thing (being a huge sweet tooth), so I'm super excited to receive, review and be able to share my love for the culture (and loads of delicious treats) with one of you guys. Stay tuned for more details!
