Fashion Friday; The Boy in the Blue Dungarees // 043
I've always enjoyed dressing little A and sharing baby & toddler fashion on the blog, but I think this outfit stands above & beyond the rest for one extremely emotional reason — those gorgeous Osh Kosh dungarees he's wearing are almost 20 years old and belonged to my baby brother. A brother I loved very much, a brother who suffered with severe autism & learning difficulties, and sadly a brother we lost 6 years ago due to an undiagnosed heart condition.
Archie's middle name is Connor, to commemorate the Uncle he'll never meet, and we'll tell him all about him as he grows up and asks more questions as I'm sure he will when he looks at his own brother or sister and his Daddy's siblings and eventually asks Mummy about hers.
The loss of my brother was devastating, heartbreaking and tragic, but having A brought something back to me and my parents. We see Connor in him, in his looks & cheeky ways and though no one can ever replace Connor, A has gone a long way in lighting up my parents faces again, with a joy I know they thought they'd never experience again.
So, this week's Fashion Friday features a simple pair of dungarees, but to those close, the symbol of a little boy wearing that pair of dungarees means much more than anyone else could know.
