Easter 2016; Let there be chocolate.. Or is that poop?

Happy Easter, guys! I hope everyone had a really lovely bank holiday weekend (so weird for me as I'm always off Friday/Mondays anyway). Ours was full of chocolate, family and A's first poop in the potty! He's been such a natural at using it and has really ramped up his game these past few days; I'm so proud of him practically doing it on his own (thankfully, because Mama didn't have a flipping clue how to potty train). I'll talk more about how things are going with PT when I write A's 27 month update, but for now here's what we've been up to this Easter!

This is the first year A has been old enough to understand what's going on, so we decided to set him up an egg hunt in our living room on Easter Sunday. I set him out a toddler-sized basket and we told him he had to go and find the eggs. We were convinced he wouldn't really get it, and would simply want to scoff every bit of chocolate the minute he set eyes on it but he was amazing! He found each egg, and placed them so delicately in his basket until he'd found them all, we were consumed with pride! He then spent time 'counting' his eggs (usually '2,3—6,8,9!') before he started to open and eat them.

I didn't expect to get many shots of our hunt as usually there's hardly any light indoors and I wasn't sure how my camera would cope, but I was amazed at the results. I recently upgraded from a Canon EOS M to a Nikon D3300
with a 35mm f/1.8G lens
and the Nikon has been great (even though I'm still a complete amateur at using it and have loads to learn); also, the beautiful sunshine we had that morning could take some credit, I suppose.
I've been asked by quite a few people now whether I've written any posts about photography or how I set-up and edit my shots, and unfortunately I don't even though I've had it on my to-do list for such a long time. So, this month, my aim is to get that blog post written for anyone who'd like to see it. I'm not sure how helpful it will be as I'm a huge advocate of winging it, but I'm happy to show people how I do it and hopefully it will help!

Oh, and this also happened. Yep.
All morning on Sunday, A decided he wanted to use his potty so we kept his nappy off and he ended up doing his first poo (in about 0.3 seconds he squeezed that baby out, that must be a world record.. or too much chocolate). He then ran off and I took the potty upstairs to empty it. After bringing it back down, he ran back to it and did another one! I was so flipping proud considering he must've been waiting for us to bring the potty back downstairs instead of just pooing on the floor when he clearly really needed to go; I seriously don't know how he's picked it up because we've made no attempts to actually 'train', but he's a complete natural (at pooing—that's my boy!)
