A Ray of Sunshine — The Ordinary Moments #1

For a while now, I've been a huge fan of Mummy, Daddy, Me's blog and of her gorgeous The Ordinary Moments series. As a parent, it's easy to get bogged down by the daily routine and forget to sit back, take a deep breathe and really appreciate every second.
Well, that's what life is - this collection of extraordinarily ordinary moments. We just need to pay attention to them all. Wake up and pay attention to how beautiful it all is.
— Alexander Payne

Most mornings, we get this beautiful stream of light in our lounge, and I love catching shots of A within it. It frames him beautifully and his gorgeous messy untameable hair and his sleepy, grumpy expression. A few years ago, before A was born, we suffered the horrendous loss of my younger brother; my parents and I could barely cope with the enormity of grief that succumbed us, but we did. Though Connor will never be replaced, A has managed to bring a part of his Uncle with him into our lives and he illuminates every single moment.
He's my beautiful boy, whom I love, adore and cherish, and it's the ordinary moments that are the best; it's shots like these that I'll look back on and appreciate most when he's all grown up.

I totally understand how a child can bring a new happiness into your lives. Although it's now been 5 years since my mum passed away, having T has brought so much happiness back into our family, I imagine the same goes for you. However it isn't without immense sadness that the person you miss so dearly isn't here to see this amazing little boy you've brought into the world. I just keep telling myself how proud they would be!! xxx
