"A cousin is a little bit of childhood that can never be lost" — The Ordinary Moments #9
I've discussed the importance of family so many times on this blog I probably sound like a broken record (though saying that, we are a parenting & lifestyle blog), but with A having been an only child for the past two years (he has an older step-brother but we only see him every few weeks and there's quite a large age gap between them), I've loved every second of watching him play and grow alongside his cousins.
A's cousins are about 40 minutes away but we visit as often as we can and it's days like these we cherish more than any other. Little A is probably closest to littler A whose only 6 months younger than him, but he also adores his older cousins and tries to follow in their footsteps. This bank holiday weekend was the perfect time for an impromptu BBQ and for some mischief to be made, especially from these two..
Some may notice that I've been making more of an effort to be in the frame recently, and this has also coincided with Mr J gaining a bit of an interest in photography. Some of these snaps (specifically the portrait of me and A's jumping trampoline shot) were taken by him and he seems to actually enjoy it. As long as I've got the camera on the right settings, Mr J seems to be getting the hang of framing and composition which is handy for me; I need a partner in photography to at least be able to get in some of the shots with my little ones!
We ended up having a lovely day and though the weather wasn't as nice as we expected, it was still warm enough to spend lots of time in the garden and I'm so happy with some of these shots. I love watching the evolving relationship between little and littler A and we can only hope for more family shindigs over the next few months; it's scary to think for a few of them, a newborn will also be in attendance!
